UMW Tea Party

Tea Party 2018

United Methodist Women held a tea party on Sat, Apr 21.

Many wore beautiful, and unusual, hats and were on their best tea party Ps and Qs. A short business meeting, an inspirational meditation by Phyllis Mitchell, and a proposed mission report by Kathe Wilson started us off.

On display were the silver tea services belonging to Lakeview, all lovingly polished! Tables were decorated in pastel cloths and flowers, and the ladies were served by the leadership team members who acted as hostesses at each table. Scones, baked by Donna Petterson and Jan Purvis, were the first course, followed by finger sandwiches, fruit and desserts. Deb Unternaehrer prepared tea–enough for three pots for each table, 18 in all!

Members provided tea pots and cups of all sizes and descriptions. Needless to say, there was much chatter and fellowship, many sharing memories of tea parties of their past. A few door prizes were provided, most with a tea party theme.
