The Sunday Movie is Back!

Lakeview Alive invites you and your friends to our Weekly Sunday Movie matinee! Starting January 16th at 1:00 pm we will be viewing The Chosen, season 1, episodes 1 & 2 (one hour and fifty-three minutes).

The Chosen is a television drama based on the life of Jesus of Nazareth, created, directed and co-written by American filmmaker Dallas Jenkins. The series’ creators stated that they had hoped to distinguish the new series from previous portrayals of Jesus by crafting a multi-season, episode-based story. The series portrays Jesus “through the eyes of those who met him”. Light refreshments will be served.

Episode 1 – I Have Called You By Name

In Capernaum, Mary Magdalene (Elizabeth Tabish), going by the name “Lilith”, wrestles with real demons. While Nicodemus (Erick Avari) is touring the region, Praetor Quintus (Brandon Potter) approaches him demanding help collecting unpaid taxes.

Episode 2 – Shabbat

A recently healed Mary Magdalene prepares for Shabbat. Matthew validates Simon’s claims of negotiating with Quintus. Simon continues to spy on merchants and buys drinks for them and his fellow fishermen, Big James (Shayan Sobhian) and John (George Harrison Xanthis), sons of Zebedee (Nick Shakoour).

We plan to continue showcasing these documentaries in the coming months, so be on the lookout for more Sunday Movie announcements to come!
