Happy New Year!

I hope your Christmas celebrations were filled with joy! I enjoyed the great concerts and music we were blessed with this year at LUMC and wasn’t the Choir Cantata wonderful!

We are entering this New Year with anticipation for what God will do through all of us at Lakeview. I am excited that we have some new learning opportunities coming in this first quarter of the year.

Learning_009One of my mentor’s, Pastor Bill Denlinger, encouraged me to always keep learning in life, so I’ve always looked for ways to do that. This can be a spiritual discipline too as we keep our minds thinking, seeking, and questioning, we can continue to grow more and more mature in faith and deeper in relationship with God and be encouraged to serve through this spiritual enrichment.

Here are some opportunities:
  • Sunday, 10:30 a.m. in the Conference Room; Sermon Afterglow.
    • Led by Eli Reeves. Go deeper into the sermon and the text, hear from others what they think. This is an ongoing study, come any time.
  • Monday, 10:00 a.m. in Smoot Hall; New study – Unshakable Hope.
    • Led by Rhonda Plenski. This is a study by Max Lucado.
  • Monday, 1:30 p.m. in the Conference Room; Continuing study – Disciple II.
    • Watch for new opportunities to begin Disciple.

  • Thursday, 12:30 in the Conference Room; New study – Christianity and World Religions.
    • Led by Betty Stewart begins January 17. This is an Adam Hamilton video/book study. Discover what we have in common with other major religions and in the process, learn more about your own faith.
o On-going Study at Wooddale Village activity room, 10:00 a.m. led by Lydia Woods.
