On the Shelf for October 2019

Welcome to the Betty Barrick Library!

We have a couple of Amish stories by Wanda E. Brustetter, for those who enjoy reading them.

OnHerOwnby Wanda E. BrustetterOn Her Own

This is the continuing story of Faith who returned to the home of her youth in Book One, Going Home.  Faith is now married to Noah Hertzler and has two children. Melinda, her daughter from her first marriage, and Isaiah, Noah’s son. She has, of course, joined the Amish faith. You will have to read this book to find out the ending. It is a fast read.

Dear To Me by Wanda E. BrustetterDear To Me

This is the story of Faith’s daughter Melinda. She has become more concerned with taking care of animals. She is working for Dr. Franklin in his animal clinic. He has noticed that she has a way with animals – both wild and farm animals. At the same time, she is courting Gabe Schwartz and they seem to have deep feelings for each other. Dr. Franklin wants her to attend Veterinary School, which means she would have to leave her family, the Amish faith and Gabe. This is another book that you will have to read to the end.
