Welcome to Betty Barrick Library

I would like to introduce you to two new books and one oldie but goodie that the readers might enjoy reading.

To Heaven and BackTo Heaven and Back by Mary C. Neal, M.D.

She takes you on a journey that you won’t want to put down.  It involves her true life journey to heaven, when she takes a kayak journey in Chile and drowns in an accident.  She journeys to heaven and meets Jesus and is returned to live!  You will have to read this book to find out the result of this true life story!

The Healing JarThe Healing Jar by Wanda E. Brunsterter  (Book 3) of the Prayer Jar series.

This book tells an Amish story of Lenore Lapp and the adventures in this wonderful book.  It has a sad beginning when Grandfather Lapp dies of a heart attack!  Lenore became a school teacher to help bring in some money to help ease the load on Grandma Lapp.  Soon after that she met Jesse Smucker and his daughter Cindy, who was as cute as a button.  Lenore helps calm his daughter in church.  After awhile Jesse asked her to marry him.  You will enjoy reading this book and the surprises hidden in this book!

Here-Burns-My-CandleHere Burns My Candle  by Liz Curtis Higgs (Book One)

This is an historical novel that takes place in Scotland and England during King George.  There is a mood of rebellion throughout Scotland, led by the desire of some called JacoBites who wanted to return Charles II back on the Stuart throne of Scotland.  The harshness of George in his reprisals on those who supported Bonnie Prince Charles is brought to the fore.  You will have to read this book to see for yourself!  Evan as a history buff, I enjoyed reading this book!
