Today’s Scripture – Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16
What would happen if you offered to pray for someone but they said, “NO, in fact, I’ll give you $20 not to pray for me.” What? Paid NOT to pray? How much do you really value prayer? Where do you see prayer working? It’s been said that “prayer doesn’t change the world it changes me.” If so, how are you changed? On the other hand, I’ve heard it said, “Action in heaven begins when someone on earth prays.” What if both are correct? God is transforming us through prayer AND transforming the world? Can you place a value on prayer or is it truly priceless?
How much is prayer worth to you? What would you do if you couldn’t pray? Either struggling to know how to pray and having motivation to pray might be contrasted against our taking prayer for granted. God has given us the incredible gift of being able to communicate with him directly and to call on the power of all heaven.
