Essentials of Faith and Stewardship

Romans 6:1-8

Remain focused on the essentials of faith keeps us from becoming distracted by non-essentials. Stewardship of all we have is part of our essential response.

In Romans, Paul draws attention to the essentials of our faith; everything we need to be faithful disciples. This teaching is important for us because we are so easily distracted and we are easily led to believe other, lesser things, are also essential leading to dissension and disunity in the body. Stewardship is our response to God as disciples and not just financial either. God gives us gifts of talent, resources, energy, and presence which are all integral to our stewardship.
