1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 13
Jesus Christ is embodied in and through your gifts and when you know what your gifts are, you will be closer to God and more effective in ministry.
It is often easy for us to become fixated on different theological positions and cultural pressures in our faith; a reason for so many different denominations and church styles in worship. God calls us to keep the essentials in focus and the non-essentials at some distance. John Wesley is quoted as saying, “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things love.” (though the quote may actually be much earlier than Wesley) Our stewardship is one of our responses to God’s love and is one part of our call to service so that salvation might be shared. The phrase “Stewardship, a way of life” calls us to this response.
