Isaiah 60:1-6 – New International Version (NIV)

God’s Glory is on you now; it’s time to rise and shine.

Imagine the Israelites seeing Jerusalem for the first time after leaving captivity in Babylon. Here, and here alone, was where they could be present with God. It would have been a glorious day. We are blessed living in this time after Easter; not only can we worship anywhere, anytime, but God’s glory is always with us because of the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Sadly, we often live as if we don’t already have God’s glory, his presence in us. You don’t have to do that and Epiphany Sunday – the revealing of Jesus as the Messiah, is our reminder. Go, live, shine, show his glory because you have him.
