A Permanent Priesthood23-25 Earlier there were a lot of priests, for they died and had to be replaced. But Jesus’ priesthood is permanent. He’s there from now to eternity to save everyone who comes to God through him, always on the job to speak up for them. 26-28So now we have a high priest who perfectly fits our needs: completely holy, uncompromised by sin, with authority extending as high as God’s presence in heaven itself. Unlike the other high priests, he doesn’t have to offer sacrifices for his own sins every day before he can get around to us and our sins. He’s done it, once and for all: offered up himself as the sacrifice. The law appoints as high priests men who are never able to get the job done right. But this intervening command of God, which came later, appoints the Son, who is absolutely, eternally perfect.

Disciple II Bible Study
“Into The Word, Into The World”
This is the continuation of the 32-week bible study that started last Fall for 16 weeks, that covered Genesis and Exodus and now this Fall covering Luke and Acts in 16 weeks.
The study teaches Bible study skills that take the participant deeper into Scripture, connecting the inner life and the outer life. It encourages the practice of spiritual disciplines and emphasizes the rhythm of coming to God and going for God, of being the Word and in the world reminding us to approach all experiences of life as opportunities for faithful witness and service.
This study is recommended for persons who would like to understand the Gospel lessons in order to grow as Christians in ministry to the world. The study begins on Monday, November 5th, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the conference room. Facilitators: Cheryl Carls and Eli Reeves. If you have questions, contact one of the facilitators or Pastor Linda. There will be signup sheet Sunday Mornings (between services in Smoot Hall), at TNT Dinners, at Amazing Grays or you can call the church office. Sign up early so that we have ample materials. Those who attended last Fall’s study already have the study book.
Annual Church Conference
There is so much happening in and around Lakeview it’s almost impossible to keep track of everything (once again, I give thanks for our outstanding office staff!), so once a year, we gather to celebrate the ministries of the church, your accomplishments and get excited about next year – What is God going to do through us at Lakeview? Come, join us November 6 at 2:30 for a time of celebration, thanksgiving, and take a look at what’s in store next year.
