November’s On the Shelf

Welcome to the Betty Barrick Library!

We have several books that will interest you:

SoldierWhoKilledtheKing1. The Soldier Who Killed the King by David Kitz. It is about a Roman Centurion who follows the story of Jesus from His triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The centurion’s name was Marcus Longinus. He was in charge of watching Jesus to be sure He wasn’t trying to launch a revolt against Herod and Pilate. Herod was hatching plots against Jesus and Pilate. The temple priests, especially Caiaphas and his cronies, want Jesus gone so they can retain their center of power. You will have to read the book to find out the political ending and also more information on how Jesus died the most cruel death they had at the time!

ICanOnlyImagine2. I Can Only Imagine by Bart Millard. It is the story about his life and the basis for the song, I Can Only Imagine. This book is a must read. It will be available in the library as well as the accompanying DVD. Keep an eye out for these two on our shelves!
