Today’s scripture: Philippians 4:10-14
We were made for happiness. Happiness comes from: relationships; from cultivating gratitude, acts of kindness and generosity. Generosity is counter-intuitive: when we hold on we’re not as happy as when we let go and give. A key to happiness: a relationship with Jesus Christ, with the living God. Our giving is a symbol of our gratitude and relationship with God.
As we talk about financial wisdom, practices & peace of mind, God wants us to know we have more than enough so we don’t have to live with worry, anxiety. God wants us to know joy & happiness.
Can we learn how to be content in any & all circumstances? How many of us have struggled to be content with what we have? We’re often given false & fearful narrative in our culture about scarcity, that we won’t have enough. Let’s learn to discover and experience the abundance of God.
Paul learned a great truth here. Can we learn how to be content in any & all circumstances? How many of us have struggled to be content with what we have? God wants us to take a step in generosity, in our financial commitment to and trust in God.
Think about how & where you would like to give this year. Pray, asking God, what do you want me to give this year? Paul said, I can do all things through God who strengthens me. God gives us the strength to do all that God asks of us.
