Lay Servant Ministry Classes and Why You Need Them Always!!

The Lay Servant Ministry Program is an Adult Christian Education program intended to provide support services to all Lay adults in the United Methodist Church. In the West District, we are doing our classes by ZOOM to reach our geographically spread-out West District and to avoid COVID-19 complications. Classes are open to all Districts in the Conference and Outside the Conference too!!

Each month a different class is offered via ZOOM and it is only $15, covering the administrative and mailing costs involved. Please take a moment and register for a class or classes and become involved in the Christian education program in the United Methodist Church! The website will provide the times for each class

In November we are treated to “Children of Abraham” taught by Pastor Louie Lyon. This class is so very timely with what is going on in the Middle East. Who better than to teach about the “Children of Abraham”, than a man born a Jew. He went through his own Bar Mitzvah and converted to Christianity as an Adult and has friends in the Islamic Community. His faith is so deep and his Holy Communion services are so very profound. This will run AM and PM classes on November 10, 11, & 12.

November 2021 – “Basic Class in Spanish” is in the process of being finalized for the first week of November. Pastor Efrain Zavala is going to teach it. I am hoping to offer one Spanish class per quarter in 2022.

Blessings, Betty Stewart, West District Director Lay Servant Ministries
