Each week there are many events in the news, and we read it or watch it and then go on with the rest of our day. Do you ever ask, “What does the Bible teach about this event?” or, “As a follower of Jesus, how do I respond to this?”
I want to invite you to join me in an on-going study of the Bible and current events around the world. We’ll be meeting on Thursdays at 10:30 am each week for about an hour beginning August 20.
We are to be “in the world but not of the world,” so we should learn how we are to understand current events from our Christian perspective. In this study, we’ll use tools provided by the “Wired Word” and writers in the general mainstream of Christian thought as we study and explore, and in the process, we’ll grow in faith and develop deeper resilience in our lives.
Each week, you’ll receive an email with an article and some questions to consider before we meet. The lessons are biblically centered and enable good discussion opportunity.
Since we’ll be emailing the week’s material, sign up now to join this class. You can join in any time and if you miss a week, it’s no problem because each week stands by itself. Until we can meet in person, we’ll be meeting on-line via Zoom conferencing. You’ll get a link with the week’s e-Newsletter or you can find it here;
Sign up by emailing Pastor John, calling the church office, or responding through the prayer request form.
I’m excited to lead this small group and to have you join me! See you soon.
