Heifer Animals Are Amazing!  Did You Know?

Ducks can sleep with one eye open to watch for predators.  They can even turn off half of their brain while keeping the other half alert.

The east African nations of Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe were hit hard in late March by Cyclone Idai.  Whole villages were swept away leaving many families without homes, without livestock and livelihoods.  There were no reported injuries or deaths to Heifer Project participants or staff.  A small miracle because Idai was considered the worst weather disaster to ever hit the western hemisphere.  Heifer is not a relief organization, but they partner with many recovery and relief agencies.  They provide much needed help through their Disaster Rehabilitation Fund, helping Heifer families get back on their feet and rebuild their lives.

Hopefully, some of our (2) Gift Ark animals will help in the rebuilding of lives.
