Heifer Update
First, a quiz:
Bees pollinate thousands of crops and can help families reap bigger harvest. Q – How much bigger?
A – 10% B – 50% C – 100%
The answer is found at the bottom of this page.
Since the inception of the Heifer Project by the Lakeview United Methodist Men, we (the congregation and friends) have donated 12 hives of honeybees. Each gift of honeybees includes bees, a box and hive, and training in bee keeping. The gift of bees supply the beekeeper with honey and beeswax to consume or sell. Many times this will pull the family out of poverty and hunger. The added benefit is the pollination of crops, not only for the beekeeper, but for an entire village.
Honey is many times used for medicinal purposes.
- 250 ml of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- Mix well and drink.
A gift of honeybees is only $30. Truly a gift with a lot of “buzz” to it. See any of the Lakeview United Methodist Men with your donation.
Answer:
C – 100% – that’s why a beehive is such a great gift.
