Finance Report
As you can see from the Financial Report Summary below, Lakeview UMC had some disappointing results in November, as the monthly income was a little over $2,200 below what the Church needed to operate for the month and this caused the Year-to-Date to slip further negative a little more than $47,800. The problem is that by the time you read this in the January’s Newsletter, the year 2019 will be history and at our current rate we are going to end up in hole and fall short of paying all our expenses for 2019. Instead, you will have heard how the church’s finances are going during church services before the newsletter comes out.
I am going to continue to pray, I will ask everyone I talk to pray, and also ask the finance committee to continue to pray between December 15 and the end of the year for God to perform a miracle to get the church back in the black before December 31st. That is all I am going to say about this, because I have faith that God will help Lakeview UMC, WHY, because He has ALWAYS helped us in the past. And God is the only being in the Universe where absolutes can be used, like Always, Never, Will, All, Every, etc. because there are no exceptions or loopholes with God. I may say to you that I will always do the right thing but we all know that I cannot make that promise like Our God can. When God makes a promise He always keeps it.
One last area, the Church and all the Departments within the Church are continuing to do a great job of keeping expenses in check. Year-to-Date expenses are still running $25,000 less than budget and this really helps.
For the rest of this update, I choose to praise all the people who gave so faithfully during 2019. As it stands at the end of November, our people are at 98% instead of the 95% for the last couple of months and I truly believe that Lakeview people will perform the miracle that the church needs to be in the black by the end of the year with God’s help. Notice that I am saying this before it happens because I have faith in God to deliver on His promises. Thank you all for all your support and prays, so God’s work can be accomplished.
We are all working together and doing a great job with God’s help. I continue to look with great hope for 2020 to be a great year. So as always, continue to pray for God’s guidance, give what is in your heart to give, and God’s Blessings to All.
