The Rhythm Is Life Steel Band
The Rhythm Is Life Steel Band formed in 2005 in Phoenix as a learning laboratory for music teachers who had steel drums (or steel pans) in their school, but had no experience teaching or playing them. Many of the members of the band are still music teachers, but we have expanded our ranks to include community members from all walks of life. Over the last 18 years, the band has developed a true passion and respect for the instrument and the energetic musical culture from which it came. Originating from the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad and Tobago, the Steelpan is a celebrated instrument around the world, and we are truly honored to share it with our audiences.
