Sep 4, 2022 – 8:00 – Songs of the Heart: 5. Song of Prosperity

Today’s Meditation;

What do I really believe about myself, my world, and my life? Will Jesus really

provide everything that I need? Knowing Jesus personally requires trust and

obedience. When we study, pray, worship, and serve, Jesus becomes our guide, our

provider, our identity, our purpose, and our primary source of love! Meditate on

this.

Psalm 1 – New Revised Standard Version

The Two Ways

1 Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path that sinners tread or sit in the seat of scoffers,

2 but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night.

3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

4 The wicked are not so but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous,

6 for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

The Song of Prosperity (0r maybe, “The Path to Success!”)

Everyone wants to be prosperous, and today’s Psalm or song gives a clear path to God’s kind of abundance and fulfillment.  That path includes attention to the destructive thoughts and behaviors that only lead to defeat and disappointment.  God tells us to avoid these things at all costs if we want to succeed.  Then there are resources that God tells us to hold onto and never let go to acquire strength and direction.

God’s path leads to treasure and satisfaction as we produce all that He has created us for.  Those that follow their own way to achieve selfish ends will find only disappointment and destruction.  The choice is ours.

What path will you choose?
