Well, Come – A Series on Hospitality and Welcoming New Comers
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some entertained angels without knowing it. What brings people to church for 1st time?
Being welcoming as a church, opening our hearts and reaching out to newcomers that God sends to us. We are called to share our love, our welcome and respond to people’s needs they bring with them for community, for God, for spiritual growth and help.
We care deeply and welcome all people. We care about what people are carrying inside. People may bring barriers within them to church, have misconceptions about Christianity, inaccurate media-shaped images that we need to overcome.
Lakeview has empathy for those who are lonely, seeking, wanting a church home and community.
Be welcoming, not just be friendly but be able to offer friendship and relationship for all who come to us. Be willing to look for people who are new, speak with them first after church, not just our friends. Let’s offer God’s hospitality to all who come. Here’s our homework: use the word “Church” in a conversation this coming week.
