Disappointments in life can reduce what we can confidently affirm about God. There is nothing anti-intellectual about the leap of faith, for faith is not believing without proof but trusting without reservation. ~Wm. Sloan Coffinn

Psalm 119:137-144 – New Revised Standard Version
137 You are righteous, O Lord, and your judgments are right.
138 You have appointed your decrees in righteousness and in all faithfulness.
139 My zeal consumes me because my foes forget your words.
140 Your promise is well tried, and your servant loves it.
141 I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts.
142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is the truth.
143 Trouble and anguish have come upon me, but your commandments are my delight.
144 Your decrees are righteous forever; give me understanding that I may live.
Do I matter? Would anyone miss me if I were gone? We deeply fear that the answers to these types of questions might tell us that we are truly insignificant. The world tries so hard in so many ways to give us the scariest answer, but God
Sometimes the Bible takes on big personal questions: is life meaningless/like chasing after wind? Or questions knock on door of psyche, like Do I matter? 1 translation says: I am small & despised/Everyone calls me a nobody. (CEV) That can be a real fear.
We can feel Invisible/worthless. Plenty of people in our time are treated as if they do not matter. WE can then discover we are invaluable to God. God who sees us, loves us, values us. Your promise is well tried, & your servant loves it. God so dependable. Our fears melt when realize how God stands by us. God’s ways help our lives make.
Psalm writer celebrates that God shown him how to live, even in times of trouble. Our actions not inconsequential. 1 of God’s gifts is to order our lives.
