Apr 3, 2022 – Are You really Clean?

Series:

Today’s Meditation;

Dear God, Please look into the secret places of my mind and heart that could hurt me or someone I love. Help me to see what You see so that I can change my attitudes and actions that make you disappointed in me. I  confess them to You. Please show me Your way to live and help me to live my life Your way with the power of Your Spirit. ~Psalm 139:23-24 Thank You, God, for all that You have done for me!

Titus 3:3-7 – New International Version

3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,

5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,

6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Sin stains and pollutes our lives. Sin in this sense is more than just a superficial account of our wrongdoings. It sinks deeply into our innermost being, affecting the way we think, act, feel and relate to others. We cannot get this stain out on our own. Jesus’ cleansing power reaches into every aspect of our lives. Jesus is the fulfillment of the Hebrew understanding of the scapegoat. He takes the stain of sin upon himself. He becomes “dirty” so that we might be made clean.
