Senior Pastor - Roland Brammeier
Lakeview UMC has truly been blessed by the Lord with our senior pastor. Roland is an enthusiastic, committed servant of the Lord. He is a graduate of Iliff School of Theology. Roland has served churches in Arizona, Nebraska and California and is involved in a host of social service agencies.
Don Bommarito, Director of Church Growth, is pleased to be a part of Lakeview UMC. He has a great compassion for ministry and serving God. Don graduated from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and has served churches in Indiana, Illinois, California and Arizona.
Ross Parrott, Associate Pastor, is serving as Care Coordinator and has a Masters degree in social work and a Masters degree from Southwestern Seminary. Ross is a native of Ada, Oklahoma, moved to Phoenix in 1978 and joined the LUM staff in February 1999. He enjoys helping people and working with volunteers. Ross is married to Kim and has three children and two grandchildren.
Rev. Robert L. Staup, Retired Pastor, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania at Edinboro with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. He did his graduate work at Wesley Theological Seminary on the campus of the American University in Washington, D.C. receiving a Bachelor of Sacred Theology and a Master of Divinity. He just celebrated 50 years in ministry having served churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Arizona and California.

James F. Thomas, retired pastor serving in areas of Christian Education, Hospital Visitation and Communions to Retirement Centers is a native of Indiana, graduate of north Central College and Evangelical Theological Seminary in Naperville, IL., and Oberlin Graduate School of Theology, Oberlin, OH.  He has served churches for 50 years in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and Arizona.  James and Joyce (a Diaconal Minister in the United Methodist Church) share their ministries in joyful celebration of God's call to service.

Noni Porter, is a retired Pastor now serving part-time.   A native of New York, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Science at the State University of New York at Utica and a Masters of Divinity at Colgate-Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, New York.  Noni has always enjoyed music and that love guided her feet to Lakeview UMC Choir and to discovering a new place to continue her love of caring for people.  She will  be involved with those in Hospice and Care Centers mainly.

Neil Leftwich-Stewardship & Spiritual Formation.  Neil served 14 years in the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference. For the past three years he has served Sunrise UMC in the Desert SW Annual Conference.  He enjoys serving on the Emmaus Walk Teams as well as the Chayah Walk Teams.

Thomas Ondra- Visitation & Pastoral Care.  Tom attended seminary in Western Michigan. His first parish (Reformed Church of America)  was New Prospect Church of Pine Bush in New York. He also served in Schenectady, New York.  He feels his calling is to the people of the congregation in their homes and in  hospitals and nursing facilities of Sun City and Youngtown.

Tom Walker, Director of Music, received his master's degree from the University of Arizona with advanced studies at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Tom has been a teacher/instructor in the educational system (elementary through college) for many years and at the same time served in a number of churches in central and western United States.

Pat Francis-Howard is a professional accompanist and performer on all keyboard instruments including organ, piano and synthesizer. She is also an excellent flutist. Pat graduated from Andrews University and has done advanced studies in other educational institutions. She has served in several churches in the Phoenix metropolitan area over the last 25 years, including Lakeview U.M.C.

Tami Stam, Financial Secretary, began working part-time as the Financial Secretary for LUMC in October 1999. She graduated from Glendale Community College with an associate's degree in accounting in December 1999. Her job description has changed several times over the years and she is now the sole employee in the financial area of the church. While she truly enjoys her church job, she feels her most important calling is that of being a mom to her two teenagers. She loves the joys and challenges of trying to keep up with them and their busy lives.

Esther Staley, Receptionist and Membership Secretary, came to Lakeview UMC in June 2001. She moved to Arizona in February 1999 from North Manchester, Indiana where she worked as a receptionist at a small liberal arts college, Manchester College, for nine years. A few weeks after starting work at LUMC, she and Rev. Thomas were getting acquainted and found out that James' father, the late Rev. Benjamin Thomas had married Esther and her husband Joe in her home church in North Manchester where he was pastor. Esther and Joe have a son in Prescott Valley and a daughter and two granddaughters in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Esther loves her job and enjoys bike riding, reading and hiking.

Phyllis Lucchesi, came to Arizona from Chicago in spring of 1993. She has worked as a secretary for most of her adult life, coming to Lakeview from another Methodist church in the Valley, where she served for 12 years. Phyllis has a daughter in the Phoenix area and a son in the Chicago area, and in addition, she has 5 granddaughters. She types the bulletins and the newsletter and also performs clerical work for the care ministry.

Jan Hughes, Clergy Secretary, has worked at LUMC since October 1999. She moved to Arizona from Montana but is originally from Ohio. She has worked since she was 15 at several administrative positions in Ohio, Florida, Montana and Arizona but feels her calling is to work for Lakeview UMC. She and her husband, Stan, have two grown daughters, two grandsons and one granddaughter. Jan spends her "spare time" doing crafts of all kinds, decorating and taking care of her grandkids.

Roger Polk, Maintenance Supervisor, has lived in the valley since 1961. He is a retired engineer from Honeywell. He works full-time for Lakeview UMC and part-time in his wood-working shop at home.

Tony Chavez, Custodian, was born in Peoria, Illinois and moved to Arizona from St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years. After his discharge he was a bassist in a band during the 60's, recording 4 records. He also worked at 3 major careers before his retirement. He is now semi-retired with his wonderful wife Kay, living in Surprise, Arizona.

Fred Boyanowski, Custodian, Born and raised in the Harrisburg, PA area. Graduated High School and worked for my dad as a carpenter and other odd jobs. I have been doing Church custodial work for over 30 years.  I moved to Arizona in 1987 with my wife Helen.  That same year I was hired as the Head Custodian for Lakeview United Methodist Church and  worked there for 8 years. In 1995 I went to the Union Hills Country Club as a janitor for 9 years. This year I was asked by the Senior Pastor of Lakeview to come back and work as a custodian on a part time basis.

MaryAnn Lemley, Volunteer Coordinator, at Lakeview United Methodist Church began this new position March, 2006.  She comes from an extensive background in Human Resources at DePauw University in Greencastle and at Honeywell, Inc. in Glendale, Arizona.  She was born and raised her three children in Greencastle, IN, but has been in the Phoenix area since 1979.  MaryAnn welcomes members to come to her office and discuss the diversity of volunteer jobs available to serve God and Lakeview.

Maxine Sass, Coordinator for Doc’s Hangout, has worked at LUMC since October 2005.  She is originally from Minnesota.  She has a background of Business Management, Accounting and Purchasing.  She also has worked for other Methodist Churches as Financial Secretary, Office Manager and other Administrative positions.  Doc’s Hangout is a social club for those with early Alzheimer's and Dementia and for some physical conditions.  She feels God has called her to this new experience and more than anything she wants to make a difference in the lives of others.  Maxine has 2 children and 8 grandchildren in Minnesota.  She has written many poems and is currently writing a book.  Maxine loves people and feels her day is complete when she has hugged at least 10 people.  And yes, Maxine loves her job here at LUMC and says that our staff is super fantastic to work with.  She also works out and dances and finds so much joy in all the opportunities that God gives her to touch the lives of others.

Kathryn (Kay) Winfield- Office secretary. I was born in Flagstaff, AZ, raised in Tucson and now live in Sun City.  My previous jobs include - Secretary, Calvary Methodist Church;  Receptionist, Lakeview Methodist Church, Administrative Assistant, 51st Avenue Friendship Center; Secretary, Unity Church of Sun City.  I enjoy reading, making miniature houses and furniture and music.

DJ Jarvis- Sound Technician- She came to Arizona in 1996 from Maine as a retired Real Estate Associate Broker.  DJ graduated from Bryant College with a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration.  She has had many career changes due to moves across the United States and Germany  that range from working as a budget analyst at the Pentagon  to driving 18 wheelers for the Air Force.  Her hobbies include guns and shooting, model railroading, astronomy, computers and she is a recently retired golfer.

Mary Cragan-  Parish Nurse- Mary and her husband, Paul, live in rural Surprise, along with a number of cats and dogs. Mary has a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from the University of Florida; an M.S. Degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from the University of Alabama, Birmingham; a PhD from Colorado State Universtiy in Counseling Psychology.

Most of her professional work has been in the area of psychology. She has worked for The Catholic Center for Health and Social Services in Phoenix, Fairbanks Psychiatric and Neurological Clinic in Fairbanks, Alaska, the US Army at Ft. Ord, California and Ft. Wainwright, Alaska.  She has taught in Alaska, Colorado and Alabama.  Mary was also a staff nurse in California and Alabama.  Her professional licenses are Psychologist: Arizona; Registered Nurse: Arizona.  Mary comes to us now from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Sun City West, where she coordinated the pastoral care ministries, parish nursing, etc.
